      High school students should be grateful for the Running Start opportunities provided to them by their school district. The Running Start program gives juniors and seniors the option to not pay tuition for two years of their college experience. Students from high schools have the chance to go to community colleges, finish their high school requirements, and hopefully get their associate’s degree by the time they graduate as seniors from high school. Due to the lack of knowledge about filing taxes and how confusing that process might result.     Music Monday lifts spirits and starts the week off on a high note. Every Monday, until March 5 there will be a live musical performance in the Student Union building at 12:00 p.m. “It was fun to watch the performance” said Arthur Mendoza, student.     Deb Casey Announced As Olympic College Presidential Finalist

    Green River College’s Deborah Casey-Powell has been selected as a finalist in Olympic College’s  (OC) presidential search.   The current president of Olympic College, David Mitchell, will be retiring on Dec. 31 and the college is searching for a replacement.   Casey joins five other finalists, all of whom were selected from a pool of nearly 100 candidates, according to the Kitsap Sun’s report.    The process began early in April and will end later this month.     Women’s Basketball Team Smashes Shoreline

    Lady Gators dominates Shoreline in a historic performance. The Lady Gators defeat Shoreline in a non-conference game on Thursday. Head Coach Demetrius McQuarn and Assistant Coach Markeith Brown have developed a new culture in the Women’s Basketball program.The Green River Gators dominated the Shoreline Dolphins by scoring 113 points. That’s right, 113 big ones in one game. The Lady Gators did not just play offense, the Dolphins were held to only ten points the entire game.
